MIDDLE AGE MOVIE REVIEWS
Year #2
EPISODE 48 - Akira(Anime or Japanimation?)
Well the guys find themselves transported to Japan this episode as they discuss what the world is like after World War III as Neo-Tokyo is the setting for their latest review. Akira the Anime from 1988 that is set in the future of 2019. Which is actually our past?
Joey, Tim, and Matt are joined again by Andres The Pop Culture Guy as they discuss the high points and the low points to this Animation classic from the mind of Katsuhiro Otomo. Joey tells us the first time he saw this film and what he thinks of the animation style that Otomo brings to the screen.
Andres hits us with some younger viewpoints of the movie, as we walk through the storyline of Kaneda and what he has to come to grips with in Neo-Tokyo. Andreas also tells a little of what he thinks of the storyline as well as the colors that where created in the animation studio.
Both Tim and Matt give there opinions of the plot and how there are many spiderwebs to the story that make it a little hard to follow with such a condensed format to tell the story.
Finally the guys give there rating on the film as to if it is worth taking time off your Deathclock to watch this Anime. The scores just might surprise you. Find out this and more on this episode of Middle Age Movie Reviews Podcast.
